Person Harmed

I am not a victim, I am a survivor

  • Confronting the person who harmed you and holding them personally accountable for their actions  is an opportunity to regain a sense of power that you may have been lost in the process of being harmed.
  • The opportunity to express pain, be heard and to tell our stories in a safe and supported environment can assist in progressing our healing journey.
  • An opportunity to ask questions and to understand more about why we were harmed can help healing and recovery
  • An opportunity to break down some of the distortions commonly used to silence us by those who caused the harm.
  • An opportunity to experience a real sense of justice not often available within the current justice system.
  • The opportunity to have our justice interests and needs met such as: voice, vindication, validation, participation, accountability
